Kehlani goes “CRZY” on the highly-anticipated first single from her upcoming debut album.
The R&B songstress teams with female songwriting/production duo Novawav on the unapologetic anthem about accepting the challenges and double standards that come with being a woman.
“Everything I do, I do it with a passion,” she sings. “If I gotta be a bitch, I’ma be a bad one.”
The follow-up to her Grammy-nominated mixtape You Should Be Here arrives this fall. She has been teasing the project using the hashtag #SSS. Additionally, her track “Gangsta” from the Suicide Squad soundtrack will be released Aug. 1.
“CRZY” follows Kehlani’s advocacy on behalf of suicide prevention and after her own battle with depression, which she addressed on her May single “24/7.”
Tonight, Kehlani will perform at the Pemberton Music Festival. On July 28, she will play Lollapalooza and then she’s off to Outside Lands on Aug. 7.
