Guess who’s coming to the White House?
Kendrick Lamar and Janelle Monáe will be visiting President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for a Fourth of July concert dedicated to military heroes and their families, according to Politico.
“White House staff and their families from throughout the administration will also attend this event for the fireworks viewing,” said Josh Earnest, White House press secretary. “There will also be a performance on Monday evening by fellow Kansas Citian Janelle Monáe and Kendrick Lamar.”
K-Dot and Janelle have history with the White House. Last year, Kendrick met with Obama about the My Brother’s Keeper initiative. The president also named Lamar’s “How Much a Dollar Cost” his favorite song of 2015.
Meanwhile, Monáe was part of the star-studded “This Is for My Girls” single that Michelle Obama curated earlier this year for the Let Girls Learn campaign.
