New Music: Lloyd - 'Tru'

Lloyd is back and he’s getting “Tru”-thful about why he’s been away for so long on his introspective new single.

Written as an autobiographical track, Lloyd uses “Tru” to discuss his absence from the game. “I lost it all,” he says on the song’s intro. “But in life there’s always a chance to grow from the struggle, from the pain, from the realness. Here’s my story.”

From there, the R&B crooner who hasn’t released a studio album since 2011’s King of Hearts, delves into some personal matters, including lawsuits, shame, and the loss of his child.

In 2012, Lloyd also unveiled The Playboy Diaries, a project that he is reportedly working on a sequel to.
