Lil Wayne has a new chain. Before taking the stage at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Weezy F. Baby received some more love for his charitable works when he was given a key to the city of Lafayette, La.
The Mayor-President of Lafayette, Joel Robideaux, presented him with the key at the university’s Cajundome on Monday (Apr. 18).
“We appreciate what you and TIDAL have done on behalf of the philanthropic efforts and we’re so proud of our Ragin’ Cajuns, Alpha Phi Alpha, for what they did and we want to present to you a very special key to the city that we made specifically for you,” said Robideaux.
Wayne laughed as he put the one-of-a-kind necklace around his neck, saying he “made it.”
Then, he grabbed the mic and performed a concert for UL Lafayette students as part of TIDAL’s initiative, Social Wave for Change, which rewards college students for their community service. The show was streamed live on TIDAL.
