Rihanna Ties Beatles for Second-Most Weeks at No. 1 on Hot 100

  /  04.11.2016

RiRi reigns yet again. As she tours the globe on her “ANTI World Tour,” Rihanna’s Drake-assisted single “Work” continues its streak for an eighth week atop Billboard’s Hot 100.

This is a major milestone for the singer as she ties The Beatles for second-most total weeks at No. 1 with 59, according to Billboard. Mariah Carey is the leader in that category with 79.

“Work” is also her second-longest leading track on the chart, beating out “Umbrella” and her Eminem collaboration “Love the Way You Lie.” The highest on that list? “We Found Love” featuring Calvin Harris. It spent 10 weeks at No. 1.

As previously reported, “Work” is RiRi’s 14th No. 1 on the Hot 100, making her the holder of the third-most No. 1s of all time. The Beatles (20) and Mariah Carey (18) stand ahead of her. “Work” is also historic because its top placement marks the 40th straight week of a non-American at No. 1 on the Hot 100.

Elsewhere on the chart, Desiigner’s “Panda” makes a big splash, catapulting from No. 14 to No. 5 on the chart. Check out more highlights from this week’s Top 10 below.
