Michelle Obama Enlists Missy Elliott, Zendaya, & Janelle Monáe for 'This Is for My Girls'

  /  03.15.2016

Ladies, stand up. First Lady Michelle Obama has assembled an all-star team of female superstars for “This Is for My Girls.” The empowering anthem, penned by Diane Warren, features Missy Elliott, Zendaya, Kelly Rowland, Janelle Monáe, Kelly Clarkson, Chloe & Halle, Jadagrace, Lea Michele, and more.

Zendaya kicks things off before her fellow females chime in. “This is for my girls all around the world,” goes the chorus. “Stand up and be heard.”

The message is actually in support of Let Girls Learn and the White House’s #62MillionGirls campaign, an initiative to shed light on “62 million girls around the world” who “are denied the right to an education.”

The FLOTUS and Missy will take their collaboration a step further at SXSW. The First Lady’s Opening Keynote, which will be live-streamed on March 16 at 10:30 a.m. CDT, is set to feature the “Pep Rally” MC, as well as Queen Latifah.
