Justin Bieber Kicks Off 'Purpose World Tour' in Seattle

  /  03.10.2016

Justin Bieber pulled out all the stops while kicking off his “Purpose World Tour” at Seattle’s KeyArena on Wednesday (Mar. 9). The pop heartthrob showed off his many musical talents, performed high-flying stunts, and even made it rain during opening night of the 64-date arena trek, his first tour since 2013’s “Believe.”

According to Rolling Stone, some serious highlights included JB doing “a backflip on a trampoline that was suspended 30 feet in the air.”

It wasn’t all high-energy, however, as Biebs reportedly mellowed things out for acoustic versions of “Love Yourself” and “Home to Mama.”

Waterworks were also part of the show. Biebs got soaking wet—and shirtless—while dancing during closer “Sorry,” which was performed in a shallow pool. Plus, there was simulated rain in the middle of the 90-minute spectacle.

Overall, RS gave Biebs a glowing review on opening night.

“Bieber sang for real, played the piano, acoustic guitar, and rock drums all gracefully and danced with zero mistakes,” wrote the magazine. “Sure, his energy seemed tentative as his dancers did Matrix capoeira all around him, but the ‘Purpose’ tour is off to a stellar start, showcasing a musician taking control of his art and an audience vibing along for his journey.”

Corey Harper and Moxie Raia opened up for Bieber on Wednesday. Moxie will continue on this run, while Corey makes way for Post Malone. For a full list of tour dates, click here.
