Azealia Banks is logging off Twitter for good. The controversial rapper has announced her departure from the social media platform.

“Okay, today I’m finally making the decision to eject from social media,” tweeted Banks, who released her Iggy Azalea remix “Used to Being Alone” last week. “American media culture is honestly so fucking disgusting and junky and complaining about it is not going to change it.

“Reading shit, seeing stupid ass articles and dumb bitches/bros has just really filled me up with a lot of bad feelings,” she continued. “It’s been a great couple of years, sharing opinions and having conversations, but I think I will be much happier just NOT looking at this.”

Her Twitter exit also came with insults about her fellow Americans.

“It’s time for me to say goodbye once and for all,” she added. “Just because I am American doesn’t mean I have to subject myself to such tastelessness. Americans have the WORST taste in everything. So my friends, it’s time to say goodbye once and for all to this account. This account will exist no more. Time for a bit of mystery…Goodbye.”

Banks currently maintains her Instagram account. However, it’s unclear if she still plans to update it.

Azealia has been working on her next project, Slay-Z. Last month, she delivered the lead single “The Big Big Beat.”
