Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz have a prodigy on their hands. Fresh off the release of Kendrick Lamar’s surprise project untitled, unmastered., the proud parents announced that their 5-year-old son Egypt received his first production credit on one of the eight tracks.
Egypt produced the second half of “untitled 07” and his vocals can also be heard on the track.
“This is the best Dad moment everrrrr!!!” said Swizz. “Congrats to my son Egypt for producing his 1st track on this amazing Kendrick Album. he’s only 5yrs old wowwwwwww @aliciakeys look at our lil guy baby. #blessingsonblessings thx #Kendrick for investing in the future !!!”
And if that seems hard to believe, Egypt’s parents also showed a video of their young son in the lab.
“He got up that morning humming a melody,” said Keys. “We went to the piano to find it….he picked it out by ear….he loves to play…. I know that feeling. Congratulations Egypt for practicing and learning and trying and listening to the music in your heart!”
And his father made sure to note that his son had “no help on the beat.”
The lauded producer teased the collaboration a few weeks ago. While at the Super Bowl, Swizz asked Egypt if he was “working on a beat for Kendrick.” The adorable 5-year-old simply nodded yes.
