The Weeknd Performs 'Earned It' at Oscars

The Weeknd continues to win. Fresh off his two Grammys and a performance with Ms. Lauryn Hill on “The Tonight Show,” the Canadian crooner took the stage at the 88th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday (Feb. 28).

Backed by a string section, Abel performed his Oscar-nominated song “Earned It” off the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. An aerialist performed moves above the stage, while Abel showed off his vocal flexibility, switching in and out of a falsetto. Meanwhile, scantily-clad dancers channeled the sexy Fifty Shades theme underneath chandeliers.

Earlier in the show, the camera cut to Abel after Stacey Dash’s awkward onstage appearance, and his face pretty much summed up what everyone was thinking.
