Producer AraabMuzik was shot and injured in Harlem on Thursday (Feb. 25), according to the New York Daily News.
The 26-year-old beatsmith, born Abraham Orellana, who’s worked with Eminem, Slaughterhouse, and Fabolous, was wounded in the jaw, right arm, and grazed on the head. He is recovering at Harlem Hospital after undergoing surgery.
His friend James Malloy was also shot in his right leg and is in stable condition at St. Luke’s Hospital.
The shooting reportedly took place in a Harlem parking lot. Two men are said to have approached Orellana’s vehicle under the pretense the producer dropped something. After Orellana, who was in the driver’s seat with Malloy as his passenger, rolled down his window, the suspects fired shots.
Three .380 shell casings were found on the scene, according to sources. It is believed that the suspects fled on foot.
Swizz Beatz provided an update on Araab’s condition via Instagram today. He posted a photo with Muzik in a hospital bed, giving the thumbs up.
“The blessings are real,” said Swizz. “My brother who’s like my son @araabmuzik would like for everyone to know he is good and thx for the prayers.”
Other hip-hop producers also shared their support for AraabMuzik after hearing the news.

This is the second time Orellana has been shot in three years. He was also wounded during an alleged attempted robbery in 2013. His rep at the time said he was “in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
