Shortly after nabbing a trio of Grammy nominations for “See You Again,” Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth have scored nods for a Golden Globe.
The song, a tribute to the late Paul Walker and included on the soundtrack to Furious 7, has been selected as a nominee for Best Original Song, squaring off against Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” (50 Shades of Grey), Sam Smith’s “Writing’s on the Wall” (Spectre), Brian Wilson’s “One of a Kind” (Love & Mercy), and David Lang’s “Simple Song #3” (Youth).
Released in March, “See You Again” stayed at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 12 non-consecutive weeks, and became the first hip-hop video on YouTube to surpass one billion views.
The 73rd Golden Globe Awards are slated to air live on Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
