Ladies first. Rita Ora is repping for her fellow females on her upcoming album.
In an interview with Ebro on Hot 97, the British singer revealed that her U.S. debut is “all about pussy power.”
“It’s really about how we get judged for the things that we do and how men don’t,” she explained. “I know it’s part of society, but I think we can still stick together as females. And also, I feel like at the moment, females have never been closer—pop stars, specifically. It’s an exciting time for females in this industry.”
Rita has been in the studio with fellow U.K. acts including Ed Sheeran and Disclosure, while her first U.S. single is rumored to feature Chris Brown. The song is set to drop in the next two weeks along with a music video.
“The motive of this album all really came from the nature of being European,” she added.
In addition to music, the blonde bombshell can be seen alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the boxing film Southpaw, which she describes as an “out of my comfort zone role.”
