The wait is over. Kendrick Lamar has revealed a title and release date for his highly-anticipated sophomore album.
The project, simply titled [Untitled], will arrive on Monday, March 23 via Aftermath/Interscope.
The TDE rapper linked to a pre-order on iTunes, which revealed the all-black cover art. The follow-up to his 2012 debut good kid, m.A.A.d city features 16 tracks including “The Blacker the Berry.”
He has been logging studio time with Dr. Dre, Pharrell, and his in-house producers Sounwave, Thundercat, Rahki, and Tae Beast.
“It’s really been a process about me grabbing from these different types of inspirations that I’ve been growing up off of and putting them into my own batch of hip-hop,” Kendrick told Ebro in November.
TDE label boss Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith declared March 23 a holiday, tweeting, “quick reminder ….. x-mas day has been changed to March 23, 2015 for 1 yr….”
