Macklemore and Fiancée Expecting First Child
Macklemore is going to be a dad. The “Thrift Shop” hitmaker confirmed that he and his fiancée Tricia Davis are expecting their first child.
After reports surfaced earlier in the week, the couple decided to announce the big news themselves. In a YouTube video titled “A Surprise from Ben and Tricia,” they are seen at the doctor’s office watching their baby’s heartbeat for the first time. The 31-year-old rapper is all smiles as he reviews the sonogram and kisses his fiancée, while his mother Julie looks on.
“Today the media speculated about some big news in our life. So we decided to share it with you ourselves,” said the couple, adding, “We are soooo excited!”
According to the video, the baby is due in May.
The couple, who got engaged in January 2013, received well wishes from fans and friends including Ellen DeGeneres.

That’s not the only big announcement Macklemore made this week. He and Ryan Lewis also plan to deliver a follow-up to their Grammy-winning album The Heist this year.
