Tyga Announces 'The Gold Album' Release Date

Tyga

In the wake of his fallout with Young Money, Tyga has announced a new release date for The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty.

The follow-up to 2013’s Hotel California will arrive on December 23, he revealed on Twitter. It was previously scheduled for a November 18 release.

It’s unknown if the album will be released on Young Money or independently via Last Kings Music. Tyga put YMCMB on blast last month and threatened to leave if they didn’t give him a release date. He also called out his labelmates Drake and Nicki Minaj.

In a recent interview with Funkmaster Flex, Birdman said Tyga was still signed to Young Money. “Either you’re in or you’re out. If you’re out, you’re an outcast to me. If you’re in, we family,” said the YMCMB boss. “You gotta choose your side, but I got nothing but respect for Tyga.”

Tyga dropped his latest single “Make It Work” last month and shot a video for the Kanye West-produced “40 Mill” at the Last Kings store in L.A. this week.

He will join Chris Brown and Trey Songz on their “Between the Sheets Tour,” which kicks off in January.
