New Music: Gwen Stefani - 'Baby Don't Lie'
Gwen Stefani is back. Eight years after releasing her last album The Sweet Escape, the “Hollaback Girl” returns to solo territory with her new single “Baby Don’t Lie,” and she proves it was worth the wait. Over the pounding production, written and produced by Gwen, Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder, and Noel Zancanella, she demands that her lover look her in the eye.
“Baby don’t lie / I’ma need a love that’s stronger,” sings the No Doubt frontwoman.
Last month, she shot a video for the song with director Sophie Muller, who’s directed many of Gwen and No Doubt’s videos.
In between her stint on “The Voice,” she has been in the studio with Pharrell Williams working on her third solo album.
In August, Interscope chairman John Janick told Billboard that it was targeted for a December release. Blanco will executive produce, and it will be released on his label Mad Love Records/Interscope.
