Fabolous is calling up a couple friends for his album Loso’s Way 2. The Brooklyn rapper has landed features from Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj.
Following their 2013 collaboration “Ready,” he and Breezy have collaborated once again. “I just flew over to L.A., played it for him, he liked it, did it right there on the spot, and now it’s in the can and ready to go,” Loso told MTV News. “What’s crazy about the record too is it kinda steered the direction of where the project’s gonna go.”
The “melodic” song is expected to drop soon. “It’s definitely gonna coast into the summer. It has a great feel,” he said.
He also reunited with Nicki Minaj, who he previously worked with on his TINC2 mixtape cut “For the Money.” “I reached back out to her as well when I was out in L.A., so we got something coming in the works too,” he revealed. “I think it was a mixup that the record was me, Chris Brown, and Nicki, but it’s not. It’s two separate records.”
Plus, he weighed in on the racy cover art for Nicki’s “Anaconda” single. “I thought it was cool. I thought it was her 2014 way of doing the Lil’ Kim,” said Loso. “Not saying she was trying to be Lil’ Kim, but when Kim did the pose, the Hard Core pose, this is kinda like Nicki’s pose now that stirs it up.”
So what does he make of all the controversy? “I read somewhere that somebody was like she’s leading little girls. I think after the fact people look at it that deeply. But on the first take, it’s still on her on how she wants to portray herself, portray her music, and I think other people make those [judgements].”
The sequel to 2009’s Loso’s Way is still awaiting a release date. “I’ma give you what I do and some collaborations here and there, but definitely some evolution as an artist, as a man, as a father, as a friend,” he told Rap-Up TV. “Just talking about some real shit and still doing what I do, giving you some witty lines, giving you some catchy stuff for the ladies. Just good music overall.”
