Jhené Aiko is inching closer to the release of her full-length debut Souled Out. The L.A. songstress has posted the cover art and a snippet of the first single, “To Love & Die” featuring Cocaine 80s, which hits iTunes on Tuesday.
“I’m suited, I’m booted / I’m ready for more,” she coos over the ethereal production.
The dark and melodic follow-up to her 2013 EP Sail Out is due later this summer. Aside from her daughter Namiko, who is featured on “Promises,” don’t expect many features.
“I did the album and it just shaped up to be all me,” she told Rap-Up TV. “I just didn’t leave room for anybody just because I have a lot to say. I just wrote the songs from top to bottom.”
In April, she debuted a new song called “Spotless Mind” at Coachella.
Jhené will take the stage—and maybe even perform her new single—at Sunday’s BET Awards in L.A.
