In honor of the FIFA World Cup kickoff today, Kelly Rowland gets in “The Game” with her empowering video for Pepsi’s soccer-inspired visual album Beats of the Beautiful Game.
The mom-to-be, who hinted at her pregnancy on Instagram, does not appear in the Spike Lee-directed film, which was shot in Brazil and documents one young boy’s journey to the World Cup stadium.
“I was immediately attracted to ‘The Game’ because I can identify with its theme of overcoming challenges and finding your voice,” said Kelly. “It’s a very important message and I’m honored to partner with Pepsi on a project that brings the worlds of music, sports, and film together. As an artist—and a huge film and sports fan—it’s been an incredible experience.”.
The 11-track compilation also features contributions from Janelle Monáe, Rita Ora, Santigold, Timbaland, and more.
