August Alsina is taking his Testimony to the top of the charts. The New Orleans crooner scores this week’s biggest debut.
The album enters at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, selling 67,000 copies in its first week. It also claims the No. 1 spot on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
“Thank you guys for hearing & being apart of my #Testimony,” August told his fans. “I’m humbled. We gotta keep growing, take that #1 spot.”
But he was no match for Disney’s Frozen soundtrack, which continues its reign at No. 1, selling 259,000 copies.
Also earning his first top 10 is Jason Derulo, whose third album Talk Dirty arrives at No. 4 (44,000).
Twenty years after the release of his debut Illmatic, Nas returns to the charts with his 20th anniversary album Illmatic XX at No. 14 (15,000).
