Hundreds turned out to pay their respects to Doe B during a funeral service in Montgomery, Ala. on Saturday.

The 22-year-old rapper, born Glenn Lamar Thomas, was killed during a shooting at Montgomery nightclub Centennial Hill Bar & Grill last month. Troy University student Kimberle Johnson, 21, also lost her life.

According to the Montgomery Advertiser, an oversized crowd packed True Divine Baptist Church for the back-to-back services, during which friends and family of both victims spoke.

T.I., who signed Doe B to Grand Hustle Records in 2012, recalled a mature and composed young man.

“I admired Doe because as a young man at the age that he always presented himself to be more mature,” said Tip. “It’s very rare that you can find somebody at the age of 20-21 and sit them down in front of somebody that they aspire to be like and they are composed and poised and postured.”

He vowed to carry on his legacy. “One thing that I will never do, I’ll never let this young man’s hard work go to waste,” he continued. “I’ll never let his life be lived in vain. All of my resources, relationships, all of my efforts, all of my energy will be put forth to make sure that his dream lives on.”

Doe’s mother also shared fond memories of her son. “I’m going to miss him coming in saying ‘Lady, what you cooking?’ and I would say ‘whatever you want to eat I’m going to cook it,'” she said. “He would say ‘you know I love some of them chicken wings.’ He would have a whole crew with him and I’d have to cook enough for everybody.”

On Friday, a third victim, Tim Hamilton, died. The 20-year-old had been in critical condition in a Montgomery hospital since being shot.

Montgomery police have arrested two suspects in the case. Darius Thomas, 25, and Jason McWilliams, 25, were both charged with two counts of capital murder.
