Ahead of his scheduled court appearance today, Chris Brown’s family and friends arrived at D.C. Superior Court to support the singer.
One of them was Trey Songz, who performed at Howard University on Saturday. According to WUSA 9, he yelled at U.S. Marshals to let him inside the courtroom. Extra U.S. Marshals then entered the hallway.
There were so many people in attendance that the judge asked for a bigger courtroom for the overflow crowd.
A lawyer for Brown’s bodyguard said it could be 5:30 p.m. EST before the judge called for the case.
The 24-year-old singer spent Sunday night in jail after he was accused of punching 20-year-old Isaac Parker in front of the W Hotel on Sunday morning.
Fans lined up outside the courthouse with signs that said “Leave Chris Brown Alone” and “Jesus Already Forgave Chris Brown.”
