Wale

Wale has big ambitions. Before the year is out, the Maybach Music rapper plans to release two albums.

During his visit to Philadelphia’s Power 99, the D.C. native revealed that his third solo album will arrive in early summer. He has chosen to keep his list of collaborators short.

“I got a small circle of people that I’m recording with right now,” he said. “It’s all my team really. We’ll see how it goes. That’s how I get the best music.”

The follow-up to his 2011 album Ambition has already spawned the single “Bad” featuring Tiara Thomas. “It’s gonna have one sound. It’s very, very soulful,” he told Mina SayWhat. “‘Bad’ is a pretty good indication of the direction that I’m going for on this particular project. It’s a little nostalgic, a little vintage, but the sounds will make you feel on this album.”

He has been simultaneously recording his fourth project, The Album About Nothing, due later in the year. “I’m knee-deep in that joint,” Wale said of the LP, which will feature comedian Jerry Seinfeld.

If that wasn’t enough, he’s also plotting a collaborative mixtape with fellow MMG MC Meek Mill.
