Live from New York, it’s Bruno Mars. The Grammy-winning crooner has been tapped to host “Saturday Night Live” for the first time later this month.
The “Grenade” singer will pull double duty as host and musical guest on the October 20 episode of the late-night comedy show. He joins the elite ranks of musical guests-turned-hosts including Justin Timberlake and Mick Jagger.
The 26-year-old heartthrob will perform material off his sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox, due December 11. The first single, “Locked Out of Heaven,” is scheduled to premiere tonight at 7 p.m. EST.
Bruno showed off his comedic chops earlier this month in a “Funny or Die” parody set to Salt-N-Pepa’s “Whatta Man.” In the funny visual, he proved what kind of man he really is by doing masculine things like arm wresting, invoking James Bond, and even re-enacting The Lion King.
