‘Twas the night before Christmas and Skylar Grey had a gift for her fans. Due to popular demand, the singer-songwriter has recorded and released her own versions of the hits she penned, Diddy-Dirty Money’s “Coming Home” and Lupe Fiasco’s “Words I Never Said.” These two songs, along with the original demo of “Love the Way You Lie,” will be available on iTunes on January 17 as an EP entitled The Buried Sessions of Skylar Grey.
“Coming Home” became a hit for Diddy-Dirty Money, and now Skylar has dedicated the record to the men and women of the military who are returning home from war. “‘Coming Home Pt. II’ goes out to all of the soldiers that are finally home and to everyone who is with their loved ones on the holidays,” Skylar told staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud.
Lupe Fiasco sparked controversy with the politically-charged “Words I Never Said,” but Skylar originally wrote the Lasers cut for a family member. “I wrote this song about my grandfather who passed away before I had a chance to say goodbye,” she said. “Tell somebody you love them today.”
staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud has your first listen to Skylar’s solo versions.
