The New Yorker was thrilled to be back home. “Being that I grew up in New York City, I never imagined myself playing in Central Park with a bunch of beautiful people like this, people that are so epic,” said Nicki, who suffered a wardrobe malfunction in the live broadcast. “I’m New York to the fullest!”
She also spoke to host Robin Roberts about touring with Britney Spears, wanting to work with Madonna and Lauryn Hill (“I used to say I wanted to marry Lauryn Hill”), what inspires her (“I hate lazy people”), getting animated in Ice Age 4, and her second album.
“As soon as I get off this tour, I’m headed to L.A. to work on that sophomore album—and it’s gonna be epic,” she announced.
