Gucci Mane Committed to Mental Facility

Gucci Mane

Gucci Mane was apprehended yesterday following a police raid at Waka Flocka Flame’s house in December, but the plot thickens. The Atlanta rapper is currently in a mental facility following the arrest, with TMZ reporting that the 30-year-old filed a “Special Plea of Mental Incompetency” while appearing in a Georgia courtroom.

The “Lemonade” MC, whose real name is Radric Davis, explained to the judge that he was unable to “intelligently participate in the probation revocation hearing.” Instead of hauling him back to jail, the judge committed him to the treatment facility, with his incarceration pending an evaluation of his mental condition.

Meanwhile, Waka Flocka Flame turned himself over to authorities yesterday because he “didn’t want to run,” according to his mother Debra Antney. He faces several gun, drug, and gang-related charges, and is currently being held on bond while awaiting his hearing today.
