M.I.A. shows her true colors on the angry love letter “XXXO,” the first single from her third album ///Y/ (pronounced Maya), due July 6 July 13. The Brit laments about her overbearing boyfriend who’s “tweeting [her] like Tweety Bird on [his] iPhone” over the electro-pop production.
“You want me be somebody who I’m really not,” the chorus repeats as M.I.A. gives him the cold shoulder. Ouch.
