Robin Thicke and wife Paula Patton are the proud parents of a baby boy.
The R&B singer and Precious actress welcomed a son named Julian into the world on Tuesday (April 6). This is the first child for the couple, who wed in June 2005.
Thicke missed his opening slot on the Los Angeles date of Alicia Keys’ “Freedom” tour so he could be by his wife’s side. His tourmate Keys shared the happy news and confirmed the baby’s name during her set at the Staples Center on Tuesday, saying, “We miss [Robin] tonight, but we congratulate him.”
In a recent interview with staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud, the new dad explained how he chose his son’s name. “My brother didn’t ever hang out with me when we were teenagers, so I kind of always dreamed of having a little brother or a son,” he said. “I came up with the name Julian when I was like 14 years old. So when I told my wife the idea, she loved the name and it stuck.”
UPDATE: The child’s full name has been confirmed as Julian Fuego Thicke. “Mother, father, and son are all doing well,” said a rep for the singer.
