Lady Gaga Meets the Queen of England

Queen Elizabeth II and Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is used to singing in front of queens, but the pop star performed in front of the real Queen during the Royal Variety Performance at Blackpool’s Opera House on Monday (Dec. 7). Gaga, dressed in red latex with a 20-foot-long cloak and Elizabethan-style collar, greeted Queen Elizabeth II with a handshake and curtsy. She performed “Speechless” while seated at a piano suspended in mid-air on stilts.

“Good evening, Blackpool. Let me hear you rattle your jewelry,” she told the audience. “My father is here tonight and I wrote this song for him. It’s called ‘Speechless.'”
