Chris Brown may have support from his peers in the music industry, but it doesn’t look like he will be reappearing on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” anytime soon. The talk-show host has some advice for the 20-year-old pop star.
In March, Oprah aired a show about domestic abuse, which she dedicated to “the Rihannas of the world.” “It makes me so sad,” she said on the program. “Love doesn’t hurt. If a man hits you once, he will hit you again.”
When asked what he thought of Oprah’s comments, Brown recently told PEOPLE magazine, “I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face. I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could have been more helpful, like, ‘Okay, I’m going to help both of these people out.'”
Oprah responded in a statement to TMZ: “Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school, but she takes domestic abuse very seriously. She hopes he gets the counseling he needs.”
