Cassie recently hit the studio with Pharrell Williams and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins to record tracks for her sophomore album, scheduled for a spring 2009 release.
The sexy singer traveled to Miami earlier this month to craft an uptempo cut with Pharrell. “It’s a crazy record that he wrote. It’s incredible! It’s my first record with him,” the 22-year-old tells staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud.
Another producer the Bad Girl is working with on the follow-up to her 2006 debut album is staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud’s own video blogger Rodney Jerkins. “We did a few [tracks] together, some slow, some uptempo, some mid.”
An album title has yet to be chosen, although one rumored title floating around the Internet is Connecticut Fever, which the “Official Girl” scoffs at. “I don’t know why people do this to me,” she laughs, while adding, “I’m actually very close to [a title]. I’m trying to make sure that everybody likes it.”
Production on the album is expected to wrap by Thanksgiving. Other collaborators include Kanye West, who contributed something “absolutely insane,” Danja, Ryan Leslie, Mario Winans, Bryan-Michael Cox, and The-Dream and Tricky Stewart.
