R&B crooner Lyfe Jennings was arrested for allegedly firing a gun, leading police on a high speed chase, and refusing to take a DUI test, according to TMZ.com.

The incident occurred on Sunday in Smyrna, GA where Smyrna Police responded to a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers encountered the 35-year-old’s vehicle leaving the area. A chase ensued and the singer, born Chester J. Jennings, eventually crashed his red 2005 Corvette.

He was charged with Attempting to Elude and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Criminal Trespass, Discharging a Firearm Near a Public Highway, and DUI-Refusal.

Jennings was in prison from 1992-2002 after being convicted of arson.
